Governance Flow Chart

The CPFC Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) chaired by Dr. Feridun Hamdullahpur (VP Research and International at Carleton University) and the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) chaired by Dr. Sylvain Charbonneau (Director, Applications Technologies, Institute of Microstructural Sciences at the NRC) manage the activities of the CPFC Facility established at the NRC Institute of Microstructural Sciences (IMS).

The Project Management Committee (PMC) directly manages the activities of the CPFC ORDCF project at Carleton University (referred to as CPFR or Centre for Photonics Fabrication Research). Members of the PMC are:
  • Dr. Samy Mahmoud, President and Vice-Chancellor Pro Tempore, Carleton University (Chair)
  • Dr. Sylvain Charbonneau, Director, Applications Technologies, Institute of Microstructural Sciences at the NRC
  • Dr. Paul Jessop, Professor and Chair, Department of Engineering Physics, McMaster University
  • Dr. Garry Tarr, Professor, Department of Electronics, Carleton University
  • Dr. Richard Hornsey, Associate Prof. Department of Computer Science & Engineering, York University
  • Dr. Iain Calder, Director of Engineering, Group IV Semiconductor Inc.
  • Dr. Simon Fafard, President and CEO, Cyrium Technologies
  • Mr. Morris Repeta, Senior Manager, Radio Technology. Wireless Technology Laboratories, Nortel
  • Ms. Cathy Malcolm from the Office of the Vice President, Research and International at Carleton University attends the PMC Meetings and acting as Liaison to the SPC.
