Two graduate students studying at the Department of Electronics, Carleton University received CPFR funding to allow them to spend time during the Fall and Winter of 2008 at the University of Arizona College of Optical Sciences. The two students will get education and training in innovative photonics fabrication techniques used at Arizona. The Department of Electronics at Carleton and the University of Arizona College of Optical Sciences work jointly on research and development projects in photonics.
