OUR HISTORY
The Central Peace Fire & Rescue Commission is the formed amalgamation of the former Municipal District of Spirit River No.133, Village of Rycroft, and the Town of Spirit River Fire Departments. The Departments worked vigilantly to combine the three departments to control cost for tax payers, and to create a unified front of skilled firefighters to better serve the area. The three municipalities created the Central Peace Fire Rescue Commission with the intent of amalgamation. In November of 2015, Brian Kroes was appointed as the new fire chief for this department bringing extensive knowledge and experience to his new roll. On Thursday July 8th, 2016 the NDP government officially appointed the new commission control for the area, creating the Central Peace Fire Rescue.
The Central Peace Fire & Rescue Commission Board of Directors is made of TWO council members from the Municipal District of Spirit River No. 133, the Village of Rycroft, and the Town of Spirit River. These members strive for excellence and professionalism as they drive the commission forward.
